Unlock Problems

If your having difficulty with the basic unlock procedure/instruction that you received with your unlock key please read these more in depth instructions;

Run the trial version of the game you purchased from its desktop icon or start menu group.

You should see a "Silver Creek Entertainment Presents" screen. The screen will then indicate it is running the trial version and move to the "HardwoodGames.Com" advertisement screen. You should see options for "Play Full Version" and "Play Trial Version" as well as advertisements for our other games. Don't choose any of those options, but do the following instead.

There should be several keys on the top of your keyboard labeled F1 through F12. Press the F6 key (not the individual "F" key followed by the individual "6" key) located in the center of those. This will bring you to an unlock screen. Enter your name in the "Name" field EXACTLY as it was emailed or shows on your label. Then enter your unlock key numbers in the "Key" field. Your unlock code should be 3 sets of 4 numbers (xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-) for Hardwood Spades, Hearts, and Euchre. Your key will be 4 sets of 4 numbers (xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-) for Hardwood Solitaire III, Hardwood Backgammon, and Ruckus Bucks Dangerous Mines. It is ok that there is a dash at the end of the last number. That dash is supposed to be there.

Now at this point you will have some different options depending on the game your unlocking. If your unlocking Hardwood Spades, Hearts, or Euchre there will be only one button to choose. Press the "Unlock" button and the program will thank your purchase and ask you to restart. Press the "Restart" button and your all done.

If your unlocking Hardwood Solitaire III, Hardwood Backgammon, or Ruckus Bucks Dangerous Mines there will actually be 3 different buttons. Before we go any further, if you aren't already, you need to connect to the internet. Once thats done, go ahead and press the "Unlock Via Internet" button. A box with some animated gears turning will appear. You will see "retrieving data" and then a box will appear saying "Thank you for purchasing" and have options to "Restart" or "Exit". Press the "Restart" button and the game will close and then restart.

Congratulations, your full version is installed.

If your having a connection error when trying to unlock Hardwood Solitaire III, Ruckus Buck's Dangerous Mines, or Hardwood Backgammon via the internet you may want to consider doing the unlock via floppy method shown here;

-Unlock Via Floppy-

The "unlock via floppy" method of purchase verification for Hardwood Solitaire III, Hardwood Backgammon, and Ruckus Buck's Dangerous Mines that will work for people having difficulty using the internet and email methods. The first thing you want to do is find an empty floppy disk and put it in your floppy drive. Next run the trial version of the game your unlocking. As soon as the game is running press the F6 key on your keyboard to get to the unlock screen. Enter in your name and unlock key EXACTLY as the email (or CD case if you got the CD version) shows you. You can also "copy and paste" directly from the email if you would like. Next press "unlock via floppy".

The screen will have the basic instructions I am giving you now on it, and at the bottom will say "save data to floppy disk". Press it. After saving the screen will say unlock.html has been saved to your A:\ drive. Next go into My Computer and then double click on the A:\ drive and their should be a file in there called "unlock.html". If this file is there than the first part is done. The next step depends on your setup. If you don't have internet access on this computer you will need to pop out the disk and take and put it in a computer that does before we proceed. Once its in a computer with internet access move to the next step. Connect to the internet. Then Go into the A:\ drive and double click the "unlock.html" file. This will open your default web browser and take you to a screen. The screen will say "Click on the submit button to continue:", Click it. After it has processed the screen will say;

Now press and hold down the shift key and click here and save this file to your floppy drive.
Once the file is finished downloading to the floppy disk, take it back to the other computer.
Now double click on the unlock_XXXXXXXXX.scekey_s file on the floppy disk. Your game should now say that it is unlocked.

Do as it says and hold the shift key while clicking on the blue "here" link. This should bring up a save file dialog box. You want to specify that the file saves to the A:\ drive. There is an "up one level" button that looks like a folder with a green arrow pointing up out of it that you can press to back through your files. Once you have gotten to a screen where you can see the A:\ drive double click onto that drive and then press save. After it saves the new file to the floppy your done with the this step.

Now if you are unlocking the game on a computer with no net access you want to bring the floppy back to that computer and put it in the drive. Go into My Computer and the A:\ drive and double click the unlock_482849140.scekey_s file (has an icon of a playing card). This will unlock the game. It should ask you to restart and then your all set. If you have any problems please email us and tell us where you come into problems.
