Yup. Blind Nil, Skill. Obviously you've never tried that version of spades so you're surprised. Let me give you an example. round 1. very uneven distribution - lets say 10:2 for the opponents. One opp bids 5. ur p bids 1. second opp bids 6. bidding comes to you. you got 9,10,j of hearts and 2 low sp...

Hi Hexa.
if you bid 0, you may only get bags, but no penalty. In that way, if someone gets a really nasty hand he can avoid the risk of nil set / bid set by just bidding 0. it can serve also in some strategic bids - we can discus this further if you really like to.

Hi Jonas, been playing spades on HW for a couple of years now, but before that i've used to play at playsite.com (RIP).
