Re: You win Jonas!

Regular euchre games are based on 11 points, just like they are in the real world when the 5 and 6 cards are used to to keep score Depends on what part of the world you live in, but nice feature to add. Fairly easy to add too. Game Options: No fooms, no talk You already have this feature. Mute the ...

Re: The G with some Basics.

I just didn't get the kitty part. Yes, there are two more trump out there and assuming they are dead could easily result in a euchre. In your scenario, having 5 trump would decrease the chance of anyone having 3 or 4 trump. The chance decreases even more since the kitty is bigger. I'm sorry, I only ...

Re: The G with some Basics.

Had an email asking, why would we in a 7s up game block less. Simple answer is, no need to block at all. There are too many stoppers for you, the best one being the kitty, 12 dead cards or 38% of the deck. It is very rare to block in this format of the game. The blockers will be way out of touch if...

Re: Leads of a singleton Ace against a Loner.

Being an avid non-blocker, I have forced myself to defend thousands of loners and I see no fault with West's playing. I would argue that East should understand how loners are usually called, and if their partner leads an ace first, and then on the fourth trick West plays a club, East should assume t...

Re: Fooms

While you're inside a game use the mouse like you would send a luck foom, and hover your cursor over it for 3-5 seconds. A little yellow box should pop up and display the keyboard command for each foom you hover over.

Re: Table Talk

I consider table talk as talk that would help someone play the hand. Saying "nep" when it doesn't matter what card is played is really not considered table talk, in my opinion. My reasoning is because in live games most people would just throw their hand down because it does not matter how the cards...

Re: Table Talk

Add "DOD" to the list too please. To me seeing "dod" means simply that your pard is very thin and you called this hoping for a lot of help. Any kinda of chat pertaining to your hand or your call should not be happening at the table until that hand is played out. I agree, just start sayin DOD every ...

Re: The G with some Basics.

60% of statistics are made up on the spot. :) Do you honestly think it is as low as 5% when the average loner is two suited or sometimes three with ace, and X offsuit. Mathamatically it is more probable for someone to go alone with this than three trump and two aces. That hand doesn't come up as oft...

Re: The G with some Basics.

(3) Leading a Singleton ace into a loner on the 1st lead, is the wrong way to play it. That Ace can take a trick at any stage of the hand, DON'T lead it. Different if you have 2 aces. :) :) Eennie Meenie The G Actually lets create a scenario here. You are in first seat and the dealer picks up and c...

Re: Restricted from Moderated rooms

I believe I just hit on a solution here. I think the host of the table should be able to have the option of converting the game from rated to social if their partner is making outrageous bids. Rarely is the problem person EVER the host of the table. One persons definition of an outragous bid differ...

Re: Placebo Effect...

Uh no, I barely get three tricks let alone five when I go alone. Please, thats scary... :o Garry, wouldn't there be more combinations if there are more cards? I tried it this weekend for the first time, fun. Seems like people play more conservatively, but most times you don't have to because of what...

Re: Unreal high ranking?

You will find at times you will go for games on end with no loner possibilties arising, except if you are Brentie. :D Oh I'm sure you just don't notice all the closet loners and ones not called because they are afraid of the 7s up's game and its deadly reputation of being a "Loner Killer" No...

Placebo Effect...

Lets try getting some good discussion on this forum with a new topic. :D What are your thoughts on the placebo effect and how it relates to Euchre (or any card game), and not just medicine? For those who don't know what placebo means, here is the definition: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/pl...
