Fooms and Spouting PNPer and Heart Etiquette

While I enjoy fooms for the most part - sometimes though they can be quite annoying. Some players love to thunderbolt you when they receive the queen. Or they get mad if they have to take hearts. The best is when someone leads spades and the unfortunate one to get caught with the spade will call the...

Re: Jonas - Can We Get the Reset Rating Back?

Your sarcasm really is not appreciated. I may be good at backgammon (which I am - but I do not play by program - but face to face with opponents), but that isn't the point, is it?

Re: Jonas - Can We Get the Reset Rating Back?

What is the big deal if they reset - there is no monetary involvement - and there are many bad players out there and many players who just get very high cards and a very high score. Who ever heard of a hearts champion really? Ok bridge, yes. Backgammon, yes. Chess, yes. But hearts? There is no monet...

Re: Jonas - Can We Get the Reset Rating Back?

I totally disagree with you. Not everyone who resets has a diabolical motive for doing so. Not all players are great players - and when scores get so low - now since we can no longer reset - some just open up a new nic. It really is not much fun for those to come to a game with a glaringly low avera...

Jonas - Can We Get the Reset Rating Back?

I wrote this information under multiple nics - but am afraid it will probably be missed there. Is it possible to reinstate the reset rating? I really do think that when one's nic gets so low, that a new nic is created. I am sure many would go back to using an original nic if they could get back to 1...

Re: multiple nics

I wish you would reinstate the reset score button. I think what happens is that when the score of a nic gets so low - they just go and start a new nic and go forward with that. I would bet you would get a lot less new nics if this were done. What is the big deal in resetting a low score? No one play...

Re: Hardwood Games Public beta for Windows - Updated 12/17/2

Jonas, I have been reading most of this thread and would like to ask how this will affect families that have purchased more than 1 game on the old client. My husband and I have already paid for hearts, backgammon, and spades with three different keys. Would this allow us to open 3 accounts since we ...

Re: Reset ratings

Sorry - I don't agree - I think many will use this as an excuse to leave a losing game :(

Quitting Game - Is there a Forfeiture?

If someone quits in the middle of a game, is there a certain amount of points deducted for quitting or does that person gain points if the bot wins or comes in second in the game? I think it would be more than appropriate to have a forfeiture amount deducted say 50 points for just quitting mid strea...

Re: Peek and Run

and please, let's not forget the attitude of the players when playing. It is so demeaning to have players call other players stupid or idiot - it certainly does not make it a great atmosphere for fun playing :(

Provisional Player - Kicked Out of Games Twice Yesterday

I am a provisional player (paid, but provisional). I had been practicing on the computer (using the tutorial on hard level) and was ready to play spades! To my chagrin, when I went into a game to play, I was kicked out. Mind you, I had never played before so it was not a personality problem or a pro...

Some Questions, please

Is it only here or do members of other heart sites quit when they receive the queen of spades? Also, I have noticed that some players get kicked out of games where one player votes him off and the others go along (whether or not they know who that player is). This happened to my husband yesterday. H...

Rude Behavior during Game

I may or may not like someone's strategy while playing, but I simply feel it is so very rude to call a player an idiot when playing a regular game (not tournament, just a game). Yes, I was called an idiot and had lightning flashed at me, etc. But this idiot (meaning me), won the game. I will never s...

Re: Strategy Tips - can you share?

thanks so much! I noticed I play a bit differently than most - and funny - when playing Microsoft Hearts (built in computer game), I win a lot - but the strategy there is way different than in Silver Creek Hearts!
