Re: Doubling Cube

Reported Apr 26, 2007. See thread titled "Version 1.1 Build 22".

Two days after it was reported, Groomph said an update would be coming out later in the week to fix the problem.

Re: Are the rolls stacked in the computers favor, absolutly

There seems to be an interesting effect in backgammon that folks feel like the computer gets special rolls to its benefit.... I'm here to tell you I don't believe you. I have absolutely ZERO confidence in what you say is true. I've played this site for a long time and the longer I play the less con...

It seems logical to me that the dice should land on the same side of the board as your player is sitting. However it happens, it'd alternate from side to side. Also, the player whose turn it is should have the background behind their avatar illuminated.

I'm hoping the BOT, subbing and cheating issues will be fixed before Christmas (2007  ). I'd like to buy it as a gift for my nephews.

The programmers need to go back to the drawing board on this. There are still many situations where the die with the lower number may be played which result in the higher number becoming unplayable.

@ wanderer Could you give me the situation where the online game was still allowing an inappropriate play. It should already be fixed. I have noticed another situation where the playing of the higher numbered dice is not enforced in build 28. If you need to bring a piece in off the bar, the game wi...

Sounds preposterous but it's true!!! Perhaps I wasn't clear. The two issues are interconnected. The BOTs refuse to play when they are invited to complete an online game where some human player has left before the end. The BOT joins and then just sits there. It doesn't roll the dice and/or tak...

Subs

It seems grossly unfair to me that good samaritan players who substitute for quitters lose ratings points when they lose the game. Usually a game where they have to dig themselves out of a deep deep hole. Also, it seems to be getting more common that BOTs are refusing to play when invited to finish ...

Someone else will undoubtedly clarify this but... You need to click to the "CHECK VERSION" option. When you first open backgammon, I believe it's under "HELP" or "ABOUT". Whichever it is, I'm sure you'll find it with little delay. Like you, I could have sworn I replied "yes" to a similar similar pro...

Jonas, After reinstalling Backgammon to fix a connection problem I was having, it occurs to me I may have been on a pre Build 28 at the time I reported the reoccurrence. Does this mean the rules are enforced according to the Build you have installed? Now that I think about it, it would make sense. M...

I'm not sure why not having the latest build would cause Backgammon to hang when establishing an online connection. I see plenty of other people on pre-28 builds in the lobby. Anyway, I re-installed and I'm now able to get in again and with renewed speed. I am, however, still getting the occassional...

Online access problems

Has anyone else had any problems connecting lately? I've been trying to play online over the past couple of days and the game just hangs. I have to close the window forcibly to end it. It seems to have been getting progressively slower to start in the days leading up to this. I'm wondering if I need...

I can't say what the specific board position was or the exact roll (a 6 and something else i think) but I'm pretty sure it happened during the match: 445242 R 2007-05-03 10:08:16 SummerKatrina (6) Tavli Man (0) I tested the fix in one of the earlier games. It permitted me to cheat during the end gam...
