It looks like it is essentially the same as the USCF and FIDE rating systems for chess. Eventually your rating should settle to a number that accurately represents your skill level. I really started a thread didn't I? I've been playing a bid whist program and notice that it is pretty weak also. Of course, spades is not a 'perfect' game which is what makes it fun. Yes, other than nils it does ok. Trumping a nil bidders winner (loser) in 4th seat made my jaw drop!!

Terrible defense

Is it just me? The defense against nil bids seems terrible, even on the 'Hard' setting. Even worse, computer partner trumped opponents busted nil in fourth seat!!

Edit--I see that most (all?) of the posts have to do with online play. I am talking offline hardwood spades.
