Re: The Ten Truths of Spades

I would add another point to your list: Mentality. Especially in eGames it is a huge influence factor. Ever seen the effect of opponents doing mistake after mistake or risking too much when you outplayed them? That happens, when they are stressed or lost confidence to win that game. It goes the othe...

Re: Example of slanted deals

I agree with Galt. Card distribution is in no way wrong here. Remember, that 99% of the games have the cut deck option. So the player who cuts the deck "manipulates" the final card distribution.

Re: What do you play here?

No underbidding wouldnt help here. They bid 7 and they only need 7. It doesnt matter at this point if you overbid or underbid cause the opps will not play to set the nil but to get the 7 tricks.

There is a big bug in your software. When you use the old client and the new client you can play with both at the same time and play on the same table. This will lead to heavily abused exploits.

Re: Ponder multiple Leaderboards, need feedback.

The situation you are in is very though. I think, whatever you do you have a big chance to mess it up. Personally I would prefer seperated leaderboards for different game styles: Team standard rules Team nonstandard rules (Mirror, Suicide, Pass) Cut Single Tie the leaderboard to player accounts. So ...

Re: Yet another last hand

You're all right. I was bidding nil, my bid 5 (stretching his bid so far, as it turned out while replaying the game) and the opps bid both 2. I was thinking about a nil too. Luckily west had the high cards and east the low cards. So west couldn't break spades and east had 4 spades but feared to brea...

Yet another last hand

Last hand, game was very though and we had to make up a 150 lead. Now it comes to the last hand. Score is 480 opps/407 us. I'm the first bidder and have this hand: :club:3 :diamond:78J :heart:589KA :spade:345J What would you have bid. I considered two options but what I did, I'll tell afterwards :)

Its hard to say if it was good or not to split up the rooms. On one hand the majority of players complained when they couldnt go into smoots cause the room was full. Now some of the players complain that the rooms got splitted :? My suggestion: Create a lobby where all players can chat and see the t...

The timer is a good idea but imho not the thing we really need. I would suggest an option to have the kick options available just like in a regular game but w/o the annyoing 2 min stalling stuff. Sometimes I'm going to smoke one before I want a rematch so i mght need more than 2 or 3 mins. A timer w...

Okk Omni i will explain the plan I would have: When I bid 2 I show my pard this is the max bid I have but I also force West to think about his bid. If he bid less than 4 he opens the door for my p to nil. But if he bids 4 we can try to set the 6 bid. Well you don't have real chances to get more than...

You must have praid to the Spades God :) I would bid 2 forcing West bid 4 to outscore you when North is going nil. Although I don't believe that your partner has chances to survive. Btw: I don't go further in the North bid's nil option. When East bids 2 and you have max 2 there are still 9 possible ...

There are some factors you have to calculate under some circumstance. First of all is the score and the individual bids. There are too many cases to give an ultimate answer. But its a good practice to lead back the suit and let everyone in doubt what you or your pard might have in other suits.

3 or nil that are the choices you have. If you bid 3 the opps need to have a 7 team bid makes the total bid to 14 or need a nil to win. If you bid less than 3 you give opps a chance to bid 6 team bid and win by bags. If you bid higher you add risk you don't need in this situation except West bids ni...
