Anyone who paid but cant make GP; If ticket can be sold I would be happy to buy 1 off of someone. I heard from someone they are non-refundable, but there are transferable.

I've always been one to give credit where credit is due.......and many of the posts on this topic are worthy of the Pulizer Prize. The profile of the "God Bless Midol" nic.....I wouldn't be a bit surprised if in the future, Mastercard uses it in one of their own advertisements. Those of you all cryi...

I stand corrected Dancing...8.1666666 is correct. After taking into account hitting, bearing off, dead cubes and killed numbers...average doubles should still be in the ballpark of 4.

Sorry dancing...your calculations are a bit off...here's why; [(1x2)+(2x3)+(3x4)+(4x5)+(5x6)+(6x7)+(5x8)+(4x9)+(3x10)+(2x11)+(1x12)] /36 = 7 so the average roll is infact 7. explanation of #s above.....1 way to roll a 2, 2 ways to roll a 3...etc....divided by the total possibilities 36...gives 7 so ...

You would need to be a fool to play backgammon for real money online. I talked to a professional on PIPS that played tourneys against backgammon greats Stu Ungar and Bill Robertie. He states that there are players that are just using bots that are programmed with the absolute best mathematically str...

pip count is important...but not most important. location, location, location....if my stones are set up right with a prime or blockade, i will be down 30 or 40 pips and offer a double. many who are not experienced, who only look at pip count laugh at this offer.....until they are gammoned for doubl...

I will not purchase the game until it has more options. Although the graphics are better than other backgammon sites....some common free sites offer much better options than this SC version. Common options such as "jacoby rule" are not even available yet on hardwood. This is a option for those who p...

Crawford Rule not always working

Many times I was leading 4-0,4-3,4-2,4-1 in a 5point match only to have my opponent use the doubling cube even though Crawford Rule* is checked...this could be a bug. *Crawford Rule This is a rule that is standard in match play that states that the trailing player may not double for one whole game o...

About AI progammed backgammon

Jonas backed up that the AI is not cheating, but beats human opponents farely. I dunno how the bots were programmed, but I have talked to professional backgammon players that played online for money. The story they told me is that the AI technology some players use to substitute their own ability ca...

You can look, but finding a euchre program that is put together as well as hardwood does not exist. Not to mention the people on hardwood euchre are a great community of people, and are in a class by themselves. My opinion is that Hoyle (sierra games) is a distant 2nd place as far as other sites to ...

They are many different guides on the site, and all it takes is for 1 of them to find the nic offensive or in poor taste and it will be cencored. Its like driving down the road going 10 klicks over the speed limit; you pass 1 cop...nothing...2 cops nothing....but the 3rd cop might be the one who pul...

Before starting to play backgammon

It is always fun to play a new game which requires luck as well as strategy. One site I found to be useful was http://www.gammoned.com They show lots of useful information such as best opening moves, blocking, priming, hitting and anchoring. For those of you that have a few competitive bones in your...
