Re: Unreal high ranking?

I've never played 7's and up, so I know I could be way off. I just watched what was a "closet" loner and started calling them, while getting lucky a few times. Assuming you still get 5 cards in 7's and up, don't you think with 8 more cards buried that there is a greater chance of a closet loner? Her...

Re: Unreal high ranking?

The problem is not in the generator itself but is basic mathematics. Exactly. Well, maybe not basic to everyone. :) Most people don't play like it is a 24 card deck. Another advantage is that you pretty much never block, in fact, I never even heard of blocking until about a year or so ago ( Im not ...

Re: Random Deal Generator

If you really are playing perfectly and you still cannot win then post the text files of the games that you think could not be won. Don't just hand pick the rare 3 handed game. If Garry is right and you double lead offsuit without leading trump at certain times, then you probably don't grasp the con...

Re: Random Deal Generator

Ahh, I see the elite players of the world have come down from their ivory towers to chime in on the peasants conversation. How very common of you, *SNIP* and *SNIP*, whoever you guys are. Being the elite players you are we peasants understand you will still be the elite world class players you thin...

Re: Random Deal Generator

I play just as much live euchre as I do online. I will not use the term "real euchre" because it is all real, you play the hand the same way. It doesn't matter if you're holding them in your hand physically or digitally, it does not change the odds and the way you play the cards. It is still the gam...

Re: Random Deal Generator

First off, this is not an attack on anyones playing style but in general... They could change the way the deals work but the flaw will still be present, your perception of the cards. Some people just don't notice the 9 10 call they could have made a point on. Or they give up a chance ordering opposi...

Re: What would you do?

Ah, ok for the second lead then I would lead the ace of trump. it's always fun to watch an opponent who has king - right to play his king under my ace thinking the left is out when I am hiding it in my hand. But in this scenario my partner would most likely take the trick with the right, and still h...

Re: What would you do?

The reason i would do this, just in case the right bower is dead and the opposition steals the trick with the king of trump with your 10 of trump lead. The King was played on the second trick. The only trump left are what she holds, and the right bauer which is in her partners hand. The only logica...

Re: The G with some Basics.

help me out here. i made trump with the left, ace and ten. my p had the right bower and nine. it was my lead and i led the ace of trump, my p put the right bower on it and led an offsuit queen, this was trumped by the player to my right. when i came out with the left bower at the end of the hand my...

Re: thinking or delaying

honestly the delay timer is a bit long and if they are in such need of long stops in between plays there is a pause button.. i use it frequently because i have 2 young boys running around so i have to be on my toes if the wife isnt paying attention. either way other than a shorter timer how about a...

Re: The G with some Basics.

And what would proving you wrong mean? Someone else writing another long post explaining the logic behind it? Sadly, I agree with Todd or I'd be happy to write that long post. When in doubt play the ace that has the best chance of going through. And I'm sure you agreed with me only after watching t...

Re: thinking or delaying

Controlling ones time to think is pretty hardcore, try using it to your advantage when you are playing against someone who pauses frequently. Unless they have kids, then the pause isn't probably cause they have two of that suit. :)

Re: The G with some Basics.

For your second scenario, I would not lead the 9 of spades. You don't have any diamonds, so you can possibly get a trick with the 9 if diamond is led. Leading the 9 would mean your p has to have left guarded, three trump, or just the right and your two aces have to go through. If you don't lead the ...

Re: The G with some Basics.

There goes Todd and his ego again tryin to show off--or at least make it sound like he's better than he is :D Players trying to learn need to crawl before they walk--and shouldn't think too much about ordering your opponent with JK off Ace or crossing with Q10 off Ace. If you are still trying to ge...

Re: Hi everyone

Arrrgghhh!! This past week has been one large blow out on Hardwood for me. Every nic of mine has dropped at least 100 points....and for the life of me I just can't figure out what's happening. Seems most hands I'm carrying a fist full of 9's 10's and Queens with at least 3 suits. The majority of th...
