I had the same problem.
I was able to get around the problem by getting all my binds into KC bindeditor and then saving to euchre, spades and hearts from the bind editor. You might try this route.

Hi Keith. It sounds like you have been joining pass two games. There are quite a few no pass games in smoots and many players who will not play pass two. You may set your own table with the no passing option or join a table with no passing. The leagues run many tournaments that are no passing games...

I don't know if HW can do the same programming, but I have been on other sites where the quitter looses the entire team points for the loss and the partner remaining in the game looses no points.
