Well Jack, since the name of the game is SPADES one would think trump mgmt. would be an easy thing. It is certainly not the case. So expert and skillful in fact that typically Joe has about 20 tables or less in the Grand Prix using the same accelerated game......wonder how many would show if advertised classic spades and placed someplace where those that learned this way would notice it. For all those that want the skill my ad...

Also like to point out...............most of what you see and read about bridge and bridge hands is "duplicate related" or in connection with some tournament. It's rare that you read about "rubber bridge, contract bridge, or social bridge." However, when a smaller group decided that the classic rubb...

Yes, if dealt a majority of spades one would have a superior advantage in that game....However, some doctored it up with a bar minimum bid of three or four, some did other things. Personally I did none. I like the stripped down game in purist form without bells or whistles. Do you like wild cards in...

Northwest/Northeast/Southwest/Southeast

We're all familiar with the standard positions at a card table. North/South/East/West, but how many of you have given thought about the four invisible locations and or invisible categories where the card passes from one player to another. It is in this transitional state that we make our decisions. ...

Sorry I haven't been around lately but things have me pretty busy lately. I've read the thread and have mixed opinions as most probably do. First let me say, in defense of the "old spades daze" that it was a game that did require just as much skill, both bidding, playing, defense, and strategy all a...

That means on average about 2.75 tricks bid on average deals and games. The two trick margin and or window is quite a controversial ...
