It appears that the the update only enforces the rule during single-player games. During online matches between human players, it's still possible to play the lower die only.

Version 1.1 Build 22

:?: Has anyone noticed that when you offer the cube, the computer asks you if you're sure you want to do that but it doesn't wait for you to answer? :?:

You can invite a BOT to play in the quitters place. However, there is a bug in the game where the BOT sometimes just sits there and won't move. If that's the case, you need to Kick the BOT and hope some kind person will come into the game and finish it with you. Win or lose, their rating is not effe...

I thought of this but isn't it possible that the BOT might make a move if they were to go first?

Re: Rules

Final question: is there any way to reserve a table only for a particular player? My girlfriend and I are temporarily on opposite coasts, and sometimes someone else joins my table while we are trying to connect. I feel so rude quitting the table and kicking someone out. Try waiting for your friend ...

It is probably true in some book of rules somewhere its against the rules to do this... Meaning no disrespect to anybody's Grandma, this rule is true in EVERY book of backgammon rules. It is about as fundamental as not allowing users to land their pieces on covered points. Silvercreek shouldn't be ...

I agree totally. I keep a list of people who I won't be playing again because they play by different (illegal) rules than I do. Problem is, this site is so small it's hard to avoid these players. In fact, two of the top three backgammon players are presently on my list!!! The number 1 player suggest...

Posted in the Spades Forum: Sun Mar 04, 2007 7:51 pm Yesterday the lobby server simply froze. A simple reboot fixed it. I was on a bicycle ride with my son at the time, so it took me a while to get back to the office. Today the power supply in our gateway server died. There were some other minor pr...

Try offering the cube to the computer player when he's born off a small number of pieces and you've born off almost all of yours. Even when the position is mathematically impossible to win from, the computer WILL take cube. On the same theme, it'd be nice if the computer could recognise a lost game ...

Recently played games list

When a player leaves a game early, why does the recently played games list lose the name of the opponent? I've looked at the lists of the leaver and the stayer and they both have the same Game ID and date/time.

Wanderer - I am talking just the sound effects, like the roll of the dice. I turn off the music, cause it drives me bonkers.....Do your sound effects work? Not that it'll be much comfort, the sound effects work okay on my Dell PC. Under Audio Options, I have the Midi Device Set to System Default, I...

Playing the lower die only

Silvercreek Backgammon allows players to play against the rules. Where do you stand? "A player must use both numbers of a roll if this is legally possible (or all four numbers of a double). When only one number can be played, the player must play that number. Or if either number can be played but no...

There ought to be a simple option: "Play Match against Computer"
Perhaps in the next version?
Thanks.
My version gives me the option of playing Online or playing a Single Player game (vs the Computer). It makes sense to me.
