Maria and I have talked about the Double Elimination Tournaments and for the 60.00 it isn't fair to just play possibly 2 games and be out. WE have decided to change the Partners Euchre Tournaments to 10 games, 12 hands, 10 point games, everyone plays every game. So instead of paying 60.00 or 15.00 (60.00/4) you get 10 games..Not 2, you get to play maybe 120 hands, Not 16, and your points will be used as a tie breaker incase of tie games. Example:
After 10 games
1 team has 9 wins - 1 loss, 2 teams have 8 wins - 2 losses, the team with 9 wins gets first place, the other two teams go to a tiebreaker total points score to determine 2nd and 3rd places.

After 10 games 3 teams have identical records of 7 wins - 3 losses, total team points would determine winner, team 1 has 72, team 2 has 68, and team 3 have 80 points. Team 3 would win 1st with most team points, team 1 is 2nd with 72 points and team 2 is third with 68 points. If two of the teams would have the same exact team points then the places will be split evenly. Example>>>team 2 has 8-2 and won 1st, but team 3 & 1 have 68 points, then 2nd and 3rd place would be combined and split evenly.

WE think this will be alot more fun and more relaxed, please come and have a great time, meet new friends, and hope to see you there.

July 1, 2008

We have 38 paid players coming to the 10th Annual Chatgamers Euchre/Spades Party in Monroe, Mi, Holiday Inn Express on July 18 & 19, 2008.

Maria and I made a decision on June 1st to go ahead with the Card Party but we had to make a few other decisions to be able to have it.

1.) WE went to a smaller banquet room and are looking to have 50-52 players there this year. We have 38 now and room for 12 - 14 more...so if your interested,,please don't hestiate, it is only 2 weeks away and awfully good time.

2.) We are going to do the progressive tournament 12 games, 8 deals, score as many points as possible. Loner Pot will be available if your interested in getting in.

3.) We are going to have a Spades Tournament on Saturday Morning starting at 9am, rules at 8:30am. Spades will be 300 points, 50 for nil, -100 for bags, and no blind nil. 30 minute time limit. It should be a good break from euchre.

4.) We are going to go with 2 Partners Tournaments..1st at 1pm on Saturday Afternoon, 8 Rounds, 12 Hands, max score 13 points, you can go alone at 9. Otherwise score ends at 10..30 minute time limit. We want to be able to break for supper and get the 2nd Partners Euchre Tourney started either at 6:30pm or 7pm at the latest.

5.) Awards Ceremony to follow last Partners Tourney

6.) We will be having a Cash Bar from 8pm - Midnight on Friday and Saturday nights

WE hope to see you there if your still interested in coming

Re - Chatgamers' Party -

This is Joe Andrews, Grand Prix Tournaments. For a nice change of pace, I suggest that you check out the upcoming Michigan Chatgamer's event. The people are friendly, the games are relaxed, snacks arfe served, and they give a lot of nice "stuff" away, in addition to the Cash Prizes. - And the partner's Euchre is run in the "10's" format - the natural game.

There is also a "mini" Spades tourney, for those who like this game. Euchre is King, however, and if you enjoy "Uke", you will have a blast!

Soooooo, if you have a free weekend (July 18 /19), make track for Chatgamers. You will be glad you did!
