leagues

What really sucks is that a Plus membership will be required to have access to the league rooms. I can see leagues dropping dead in the near futur!

This won't be the case if they continue to permit playing using the old client. From what has been posted on these boards, it doesn't sound like there are any plans to force people to use the new version.

Ok, but I guess I don't see why this means leagues will drop dead. Existing players will not be motivated to leave, and new players likely would have bought a license key anyway. I don't see this as being a problem if the site and the tourney are fun and enjoyable and worth the going rate to subscribe as a plus member.

I look at it this way. I bought 3 license keys for 3 different games since 2006. I was almost already like an annual subscriber as it was. Now I have Euchre for free, and a leprechaun for an avatar. People are jealous of me. Not seeing the downside.

I'm just saying that YES I agree that there has to be a finance source and I am ready and willing to contribute but to prevent players who aren't PLUS to join leagues and play penalizes foremost the league adm's in their constant effort to keep their league alive and well.
