I can't find where to unlock this game? F6 isn't working

Post by Jonas » Wed Oct 19, 2011 4:13 pm

Our most recent games don't use unlock keys anymore. So if the F6 key isn't working, you may have a new style of our games.

Most of the new games have "version 2" in the name with the exception of Hardwood Solitaire IV.

If you've purchased an unlock key, that's for our older titles. Later I'll discuss a bit about how the new games work.

If you are just looking for the legacy versions of our games (that use unlock keys) you can find them here:

Hardwood Spades version 1

Hardwood Hearts version 1

Hardwood Euchre version 1

Hardwood Backgammon version 1

Hardwood Solitaire III

Our new titles work on a different principle.

The new versions work on different principles...membership and microtransactions, sort of a buffet style purchasing of elements of the game using tokens. It doesn't use an unlock key directly as the game really isn't purchased as a whole, just the parts you want.

Your plus+ membership works across games, So it gives you access to all the multiplayer games, Euchre, Hearts, Spades and Backgammon! You can think of it less like buying a game, and more like getting a pass into a theme park. Also items that you purchase work across compatible games, so if you purchase and avatar or environment, it will show up in the other games.

All those games can be downloaded at http://www.hardwoodgames.com.

We have a special offer for folks that have unlock keys, a year of Plus+ membership (for playing online rated games and chat) as well as 1600 tokens so you can purchase the stuff that you used before, your favorite avatars, etc.

If you want to use your Unlock key to access the special offer, you can do so here:

Don't worry about the word spades in the link, its not spades specific. Be sure to sign-in to that page with the sign-in name (player name) you want the membership for. 1 name per membership, so make sure its the name you want to use as it's non transferable.
