Looking for folks with Intel Macs to test new games

Post by Jonas » Fri Apr 07, 2006 12:42 pm

If you have access to an Intel based Mac, we could use your help testing out Native versions of our Mac games.

If you're interested, post here.

I would be interested in giving them a go. I have HW Solitaire III, which seems to work fine under Rosetta, but a Universal Binary is always better :D

I have played Dangerous Mines under Rosetta, but the ambient sounds are very choppy so I leave them off.

I have a Mac OS X with 1.8 GhzPowerPC G5. I believe this is the system you are useing to test the new Mac games. I would be glad to participate.

Intel builds uploaded

Post by Manny » Thu Apr 13, 2006 4:05 pm

A full set of test builds are available for download.

These are Universal Binaries which will run natively on both PowerPC (G4/G5/etc) and Intel (Core/CoreDuo) Macs running OS X 10.2.8 or later.

While we *think* they're OK, we'd very much appreciate a little testing before we swap these for the main download. There have been a lot of internal changes since the last release.

These releases also contain a couple of fixes. The music player should recognize when MIDI songs have reached the end and play the next song. In online Lobby Games, the players's name should show up in the Game Chat Log. Also you can right click or control click on the name to get the lobby menu for that player.

Hardwood Hearts
Hardwood Spades
Hardwood Euchre
Hardwood Solitaire III
Ruckus Buck's Dangerous Mines
Hardwood Backgammon

We've made the prerelease builds availabe now as the main download, so the prerelease links above won't work anymore.

The final links are here:

The update has really messed up those of us without the intel chip. Chat bubbles no longer even work in a game :(
