How ensure 'invited' player only can join?

Post by markmarz » Tue Dec 29, 2009 3:06 am

Hi,

I'm new to online play. I noticed that in Backgammon there are 3 rooms: Smoot's Cavern, Heartwood Backgammon Tourney and Gnome's Glen. Gnome's Glen had no players, so I hosted a game there and my daughter joined in, worked out great. Is this something I can count on .. in other words is Gnome's Glen always 'empty' in order to set up these individual games? Or is it just luck?

How can I host a game and ensure only my daughter can join?

Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,

You can usually count on Gnomes Glen to be empty, and your use of it to play a private game free from outside interference is a good use of this room. I don't think you can always be sure it will be totally empty, but chances are any other games going on in there are like-minded folks playing a private game, or perhaps players chatting with guides at a table (no game).

Your reason for wanting to play in Gnomes is one of the reasons the room is there.

Enjoy!
