Can a player's name be changed?

Post by Bowzerbird » Sun Jan 11, 2009 2:05 am

How can I change a player's name from "owner" to something else? Ya know, like a name, say John or Mary [whatever??]

Thanks,

Ellen :roll: :oops:

When your logging in online select "create new account" and name it what you want and if it hasn't been taken it will be done.

If your talking about offline game under the name is a "change name" and you can change that to whatever you want without worry if someone else has that name online.

You said:

In the lower right corner is my avatar and "name.' [BTW, yes, I'm referring to off line playing]. When I clicked the avatar or player's name, all I get is:
<Add Player>
<Select Player>
<Edit Avatar>
<Name of Player ~ the name I chose>

No option for "name change." Is it somewhere else? I have Hardwood Solitaire Ver. 1 Build 33.

Thanks in advance,

Ellen

Sorry I meant to get back to this and sorry I don't have Solitaire but by the options you have presented it should be "add a player" and should give you the option to enter a name after you select it. You won't mess the game up if wrong. My second guess would be "add player" going by the other games I do have.

Try them, one should work and it won't hurt anything...

Here's my dilemma, it's a friend's computer with Solitaire 3 and the main and ONLY player is "owner." Can we delete this player, create a NEW player BUT keep the statistics from the "owner" player for the new player she designates? Or basically, how can we keep the statistics from the "owner" player and apply them to the new player we create?

Got any suggestions?? :? :oops: :roll: :?: :mrgreen:

No... you can create a new name but stats stay with the player name of origin. Just the way it is... you can reset that nic but it starts all over at zero.

PS - There may be another way but it requires modifying it from a different aspect and not sure if it would work and could ruin you original players stats and I would not want to be responsible for that.

OK, Thanks. I kinda thought so. Unless I can find the "stats" of the "owner" player somewhere saved on the computer under either hardwood solitaire or silvercreek and "apply" them to a "newname" player, guess I'll just have to forget it. But thanks anyway.

Your welcome...

HINT: If you were looking to move the stats to a new name in the way you are suggesting you may wish to look at changing the name in the same way/format you are talking about but no promises it will work... I know it won't work in the "Online version".
