I was looking for a solitaire game on downloads.com, found HWSII, got hooked and then HW Spades was released and decided to try it. Jonas, I never did get that cd. LOL Or the Package deal. :(

Well, for me, I had played for YEARS at Lycos until they closed down. A number of peeps I played with there all had each other on IM, and one day I got this message from one of those former Lycos players telling me that I just HAD to come see this FABULOUS Spades site they had found! I followed the URL they sent me and liked what I saw.

Being by nature something of a tightwad, I played out the ENTIRE trial period and then spent a few weeks just playing the 1-game-a-day that was allowed AFTER the trial, but I liked the game so much that I finally broke down and decided to buy it. It turned out that my wife likes to play Euchre, and my mother-in-law loves Hearts, and so I looked at the fact that it was cheaper to buy the set of all three and split the cost three ways!!! OK, OK, so maybe I shoulda just bought all three myself and GAVE the ladies the other two games! So SUE me!!! 8)
Playing games should be FUN - seek out your own level! Don't frustrate others unnecessarily. 8)

I heard fom word of mouth :).

I was unable to play at WorldPlay with Windows XP so I tried out HW and was hooked.

However, I think I payed like $25.00, and a week later ya'll had the special to buy all 3 for like $40.00 :(

Are ya'll gonna have another special where we can buy other programs at a discount?

Some of us have 5 kids to support lmbo.

I was a player at Mystic Isle for years and years and during one of it's down periods in which it stayed down for a very long time, a friend of mine told me one day on ICQ, that a lot of Mystic people were playing at a place called Hardwood. She said it was different from Mystic, but had very good graphics and it was fun, so I tried it. Indeed there were a lot of Mystic players playing at Hardwood. I tried it, liked it and when Mystic did come back online, I just stayed at Hardwood. :) To this day when Mystic is down, they still migrate to Hardwood. A lot of them bought the game during that time when Mystic was down.

#2 Actually world play was going to hell in a handbasket almost 4 years ago now they had deleted their tourneys and were having them here in your league room, I played one tourney then went to smoots and havent left with the exception of the times Ive been escorted to the door but like a bad check I keep coming back to haunt you...lol

Hi ya Isabel :)

I'd guess 2 reasons...

The first is that not everyone votes (which I think is the point you're trying to make)...

The second is that people will typically reopen posts to see what others have said, maybe in resoponse to what they said. The "200" number isn't different people, it's number of times opened. It could be 200 all from the same person.

I came here from Flipside, Someone kept posting the addy in the chat lobby and telling about how nice it was and the graphics, and that it was a family site just getting started and they didn't allow nasty talk, and if you wanted to talk that way best to stay in Flip.

Well I come here, was here 3 days and bought the cd, I have the old CD. a week later Jonas made me a guide, we were called Guards back than,

Was only 50 ppl in smoots when I come here, was 2 leagues Cases and Little Boys MyLeague, Lots of times the players in smoots would ask me if I could find a TD to hold a tour. And off I went to find one and usually did, DJ or Sassenache, or Catlady, So they got thier Tourney.

Man those were the GOOD OLE DAYS.

So now I am a fixture here, Never left after I come here.

Thx Jonas and Dan for making this site, and Thx to Manny and Jason for coming on board too.
And let's not forget Roo she is the Lady that keeps these men in line and makes it all happen.

I voted, even though I don't play spades....Those of you who know me, know I can't even play Hearts....Imagine adding another card game....My brain would explode.
I was referred by someone who said this was the best online card game they had ever played. They were right!

Two good friends won HW spades @ a live spades tourney, was the prize for one of the tournaments, They tried it, talked us into to trying it, yahoo was going to hell in a handbag, so my p bought this as a Christmas gift.

I voted as a gift but its a combination of things.
