names in hardwood

Do you allow players to make a name like yours just changing the spelling around or addinga zero instead of the O . I find if offensive . ?

I believe they handle that on a case by case basis. If it's clearly an attempt to appear like someone else, I have heard of them taking the nic away. But it also is common practice to add a number or alternate the spelling of your desired nic in order to make the nic you want (e.g., since Brian was used by someone, my first nic was Brian921, for example). I don't think the first "Brian" should have a right to disallow anyone else from being an alternate spelling of Brian (i.e., Br1an, Brian921, etc.).

So... it all depends on the intent of the "mimic", in my opinion.

Most nics similar to others nics are not taken unless they actually claim to be that person or are harassing that person with the nic....I myself have about 50 of my nics duplicated by other players but they are not claiming to be me in anyway so they are allowed....and I have a lot of unique nics... 8)

Its always the late nite when guide not there the stuff happens with the bully types. Its pretty crazy that this grownup site has to have bullys . Thank you for your time

pro_zak, have you thought about filing a report?
Since guides like to sleep 8)
Things have drastically changed (for the better) in spades.
The lobby is much nicer. Husband and I are very happy, we can let our 13 yr. old play after 8 p.m.
The punishers are punishing, swiftly.
And tyvm for doing this. :D

Oh I agree the guides are very valuable and they have done an awesome job of cleaning the lobby up. The trouble ones just have some kind of radar and pull their unkind acts when they know one isnt around.
