Hi Everyone,
I have to say I do like the new room where we can all chit chat freely and not worry about if we say ffs (especially if we've had a few drinks) in lobby or other words getting censored. However, I do not like the way the room is going. Everyone seems to be just rude and ignorant idiots right now.
I mean if I were in a social setting in a pub or bar I definitely wouldn't say or imply the things that is going on in the room. I was in there earlier today and I witnessed someone call Jonas a *bleep* while he was in the room. I'll tell you right now, if that was me, I would of taken the room down in an instant. There is no need for the vulgarity. I think he is being very patient and fair with everyone and do think that we all need to step back and act like adults and not juveniles.
I like the idea of this room, but it is up to us as responsible adults to act our ages and just have fun and it will be here for us. Just my opinion, it was a good gesture, but I don’t see it lasting long.

My kids know I can go back and see every page they have ever been to and have set it up in such a way they cannot modify the settings to the program. My wife or I are the only ones that can bypass the system to allow a web site and we can mark it one time use or anything inbetween to all the time. There are many programs out there that will allow you to do this from the expensive like Internet Security by Norton to freeware (look at majorgeeks, com) to just using your IE settings to parental control (Mozilla also allows this as with most browsers). Yep you can block ANY site dependent upon who is logged in but you will have to set it up with logins for each individual which I have done for a while since each kid like their own desktop and such.

I just hate to put hardwood on that list when my son is so close to 13. They can't access my PC's.

I'll see how it looks in a few days and go from there, I figure the initial shock of being able to be totally obnoxious will blow over by then. It has been interesting reading the chat to say the least, in most cases when you take out the cussing... nothing has been said..... other than "I'm Here, notice me!"

Well in my opinion its the ones screaming and in their "minds they are making a point" but only ruining it for everyone else that thinks the room could work if they all would just at their ages. My opinion again.

Hi Everyone,

I agree some of the nic's need to be censored in DarkHorse. In a week or so im sure things will settle down, and people won't act like idiots in there. Even as adults, we all need some guidance. I would like to thank Jonas for givng us some freedom, and im sorry to say some
are ruining it for others. It could be made a fun room for adults as soon as the people understand that an adult site isnt always a porno, trashing, vulgar site. Its a place for ADULTS to speak their opinion, but do it with taste.

I have a suggestion for the kids that might go in there. Can you make all the kids 13-18 a different color then the rest of us? Would be nice to know if we are playing with a kid in smoots. I guess right now i'm really undecided about that room. Thanks for listening to me .

Hi Linda,
But how would that be possible if they are on their parents key as well as... all they have to do is click that they are over 13 when they make a nic name. I don't know if there is any clear solution to this. Perhaps.. as, I have ventured into adult rooms on other sites.. What about making adult room guides and having that if inappropriate things are being said, then they do get silence and if it continues to go on banned. Even in adult sites (the ones i have gone to) there are still rules and regulations that have to be followed. But these guides need to open minded guides and not take offense to everything that is being said. This room the way it stands.. it will just open up for racism and other crude things said... such as the forbidden "c" word. I think there just needs to be a new breed of guides for the room. Just my own thought... Im a very open minded person...and i think it could really work with the right people dealing with it..

Oh and another thing is any "adult" room I've been in, you can't make derogatory remarks or nics against another member of the social setting. And I have seen such names being made. Its all common sense people. Off to bed now, good night everyone....

I dare say if people spoke that way in a pub - they would be quickly shown the door.

No apologies.

The new rooms are fine, thank you for them. Not sure why people think Hardwood is sinking to a low level - way too dramatic.... I went in them yesterday and people were talking politics and/or discussing the playing of the games.
Some people typed a "word" not allowed in lobbies just to see it - no big deal, just a word.

The rooms were bad the first day, but Hardwood saw their mistake and quickly fixed them.

If you don't like an uncensored room, just don't go in there. This is a total win situation that pleases everyone.
Welcome it and enjoy that Hardwood has done something that accommodates everyone.

But I do see that the rooms do not get many people and I think some have been scared off by the previous posts.
I hope they reconsider because that is simply not the case anymore. Also, which is definitely amusing, is that I'm
thinking a lot of fun is to "live on the edge" in the regular rooms and watch the guides get annoyed. So you get
silenced or warned, that was actually part of the entertainment!

Hopefully it all works out. Pogo has always had uncensored rooms and they are great. The people are very nice
and I have never seen anything filthy or rude in all the years I've played there.

And yes, you are now responsible for your kids instead of an online game site. I think that is fair.

I am not an irresponsible parent. I just never dreamed that I would have to add HW euchre to the ban list, and to get no warning of it WAS irresponsible on HW's part. As far as I am concerned things are much better now. I have not been back to DarkHorse, but my main concern was opening the people online page and finding very filthy nics listed. Those are gone and I am thankful. Now we can all have fun in the rooms that most suit us.

I guess that comment about about living on the edge and winding up guides and getting silenced is me but living on the edge is better than not living at all and having boundaries removed is just that read "lord of the flies " i must admit i havnt yet visited this dark room but i will i wonder if i get my banned nic names back in there :D

From what Jonas posted on that is that banned nics will remain banned nics and that some leeway has been afforded in the new room and even now in some extent old the rooms. The keyword being is being responsible in YOUR CHOICES. Special NOTE here is that while some nics are ok for that room they may not be OK for the regular rooms so use care, same goes for the language.

I have been in the rooms and it has changed a lot from that first day and joined in on some topics like politics which are pretty much a hot topic as the election nears. The key to any intelligent adult conversation is understanding without getting PO'ed the others point of view and maybe even having an open mind to change. Nope you don't have to change and in some cases it may even make you more sure of YOUR CHOICES. You may even find you don't need to say *%^)% or &*(%$)^# or *$(($^#..... to get YOUR point across....

great now i can go to a room and say all the filthy words i want to about Jonas not giving us a 7's up deck! :)

I find it amazing that a room stays when the majority objects, yet a suggestion wont be implemented when the majority screams for it.
