Forcing a euchre

Post by sweetsusanna » Tue Jun 07, 2005 5:56 am

Curious about everyone's opinion. Is it ok to not call when the dealer is forced to call knowing that you will euchre them? I was in a red trump only tournament, hearts upcard was passed up. I could get a point easily calling diamonds but knew the dealer had to call diamonds. I decided to call it and got my point. I wasn't sure if I should let it go or not. Whatcha y'all think? Ended up winning the tourny, by the way :D

Ahhh Do it!

Force the Euchre and get the two points.

The soul suffers when we make it live superficially and so seeks out things of beauty and the profound.

Grace finds beauty in everything.

It is part of the strategy of the game. I have done it many times before, and I will more than likely do it again if I think it is to my is just a game after all. (Side note - with that type of hand, I would probably call it in Regular - cause there is no guarantee that the dealer will call it, and pass it to force the dealer to call in the wacky version you mentioned...but that is just me)

I play what ever the optimum strategy is to win the game......I'd sandbag my own grandmother if it meant winning the game......
always play your best, and keep counting.....
