Adult Room In Hardwood

Post by sugarlipped » Sun Aug 21, 2005 5:07 pm

I would like to see an Adult Only Room in Hardwood. I know it is possible to have adult verification and that is one option to make sure that there are only adults present.

I would also like to see the removal of guides. However, they could be there with a regular playing name to help with questions. I feel the current situation in the regular Hardwood room is too closely monitored. I understand the reasoning for it, but at times it is too much. Although, I dont usually participate in the arguing there, I do understand some of the chatters points of view. I think an adult room will solve some of the current problems and people wont feel like "Big Brother" is watching them.

This is just a suggestion and I welcome ideas and suggestions.

As someone who has been in Hardwood for a few years  I know that I rely on the guides to make this a safe place to play. If everyone acted like adults then maybe they wouldn't seem so much like Big Brother watching. When you sign up for this game and make your name how many have actually read the TOS?? I bet not many. Yes there are some things that get pushed to the limit and then the guides have to step in. Do we have guides that push the rules to suit their needs, hmmm sure. But for the most part the guides are something Hardwood needs. It is easy enough to see what an enviorment without guides is, Just look at yahoo, pogo, etc etc. I like playing with the knowledge that if someone goes past that point I can get a guide to come help out. I run Cardluvers Hideout, no the guides don't come there unless asked but they do help in difusing situations at times. I think they are a great added support system to Hardwood. So get rid of the guides, Hell no I paid to play this game I want to keep it enjoyable.

The topic IS NOT about guides really. It is about an adult room, which an adult would have the choice of playing in it or NOT. The topic i posted is about an adult room.

I am not going to argue. However, there was no mention of the total obiteration of guides. Yes, to have them available if necessary would be nice....however, most adults can deal with their own situations....eg. sending in a report. However, cheating and blatant disregard of site rules is another matter.

Family Site means Family Site. It doesn't mean Family Site Except For Our Weird Uncle who has a room of his own.

You can find this stuff already on other sites. This is our home.

To make such a room would require verification of the players entering the room.... I mean for real.. not just a little "yes or no" question. This would require more security... more encryption codes... We're talking liability.

More stuff that would make this an Un-FREE site/server.

prolly not gonna happen...

soon.

For the most part your leagues are adult rooms and guide free unless a TD calls a guide to that room. It may the best way to secure something like that and whoever sponsors it may be the ones liable for that room, but then again I am not a lawyer and not sure how all that would work in conjunction with SCE and of course SCE would have to approve of such a thing.

It would more than likely be a pay membership because of all the validation that would be required like those adult sites. I have paid for leagues here to be a member which gave me extra features.

I have seen numerous times the "ADULTS" resolve the problems on their own, sometimes not very pretty.

JUST DUST

Sadly to say, I have more problems with adults acting like children then I do children acting like adults. So I dont see where that would help anything. Unless our talking about a real uncensored adult room, and I really dont think Jonas wants that kinda image for his Family Site.

I would hate to see HW turned loose to the few who cant behave like Adults lol - can u imagine?.....ok the guides can tend to be overdramatic about some things but its a trade off ...id rather it like this then what they have in other game sites that have no guides...as its been pointed out Guides arent IN Private rooms unless they are called so really what are you wanting to say that would be considered for Adults only..Language or topics of a more sexual nature?Theres really too much of that on the web and other sites, thats what makes HW different and a enjoyable place to come and spend time. To override the censorship rules for one room is condoning behaviour that really isnt Adult at all.

I doubt we will do a "adult" room.

Its not so much a "family" thing as it is that we want the site to be welcomeing to the average player.

I can cuss with the best of them and am probably the most crude person at the office, but it doesn't both me a bit to be in a room with folks that don't prefer that sort of chat. However, I can certainly offend folks if I enganged in lude chat at say the store or any gernral location.

Bottom line, this IS a gerneral location.... A place where folks should not have to be subject to Harsh language, or lude comments.

And the idea of haveing a AREA that would be okay to get nasty... think about this.... BlockBuster doesn't carry porn.

LOL blockbusters doesn't carry porn LOL

One of the reason I came here was the atmosphere and still here after 5 and will be until I die. Can I get this game up in heaven (unless I end out in the other place)? I have played at other sites and nothing even compared.

JUST DUST

PS - I work in a factory environment and believe me I hear and say enough that I don't need to hear and say it here.
