Your best times for expert game
Your best times for expert game
OK, since this lowly forum has had no action in it since November of last year I decided to come up with a topic. Of you who have the Minesweeper game and have played it, what are your best times? I'll start and list mine for the three game levels.
Beginner....................7 seconds
Intermediate..............37 seconds
Expert.......................91 seconds
The expert one seems hard to believe but it is true, unfortunately when I had some puter problems I uninstalled the first version of Minesweeper I had from SCE and just recently reinstalled thr Ruckus Buck version. My best expert time on this so far is 131 seconds. For some reason it doesn't seem to be as conducive to faster play as I would like. It feels like there is some sort of delay built into the design somewhere.

One of the biggest differences between the SCE sweepers and Microsoft: SCE doesn't show you the "available" slots when you "sweep" (click with both buttons), microsoft does. It's a lot faster to count how many spots are touched when you hold the buttons down and the unmarked ones are highlighted.

Mompsu, you lucky girl! In the beginner map, it IS possible (though extremely rare) to clear the board on the first play. I don't think it's possible at any of the other sizes, tho.
I still have yet to reinstall the sweeper games (since my machine went belly-up). Will post scores when I get some!

Mompsu was referring to a custom board (5X5), according to her post. Much easier to clear the board then. The beginner board is a bit bigger, 10X10 I believe. My preference is still to play the expert board with 100 bombs. Much more challenging.
Also, the SCE version does play slower, why I don't know. The reaction times for everything seem to have some split second delay built in. I must resign myself to never besting expert level in under 100 seconds with this version I guess.

So many responses, yet everybody is afraid to post best scores.
Here are mine, I play SCE's version called shamrock's gold. I have yet to try the other varieties that SCE has to offer. I also rarely play MS version anymore, its too dull compared to SCE.
Beginner >>>>> 5 seconds
Intermediate >> 53 seconds
Expert >>>>>> 198 seconds
Custom 5x5 >>> 0 seconds
that was no fun
Looks like I need to do some work on my Int & Ex levels.
Duffer, in my version i have the best 3 times at each level. Out of curiosity, what are your other times for expert if available. You mentioned the 131, but are you able to be in the low 100's regularly? I just cant click that fast!!
