An easy trick to never step on a mine...

Post by Zadig » Sat Mar 19, 2005 3:59 pm

Hi!

Just right click on any tile, and if the flag comes up, right click again and the flag dissapear, and the you left click the same tile and it disappear leaving just a harmelss number.

If, when right clicked, and the tile is hiding a bomb, it will display a crystal. Tile solved!

No guessing, no danger!!

This was toooooo easy......

But I guess this will be rectyfied on the next build. I tested build 18.

The crystal appears when there is a nearby square for which only the indicated number of squares are unclicked. For example, if there is a "1" square nearby, but the other 7 squares near the "1" have aready been clicked. In this case, the square you are flagging is the only square near the "1", so it must be a mine, and the crystal appears. In order to get to that position, the other 7 squares must have been previously cleared. So this isn't a trick for revealing the mines, the mines must have previously been revealed by clicking all the nearby squares which are not mines.

The "crystal" feature can be disabled on the options screen by unchecking the "Uncover Safe" option.
