I know i'm probably wrong here, otherwise you wouldn't have told anyone about it, but isn't buffalo an endangered species?
Ok, ok, you can shoot me down now,

Nope Sandy they are not an endangered species......there are approx 250,000 today.....a drop in the bucket compared to the 60,000,000 that once roamed the prairie.... 8)

And speaking of the Tatanka ladies, looky here..

wow!

seriously tho, I watched a video from the buffalo's standpoint it was neat, the narrorator explained that the buffalo respected the hunter. He accepted he was placed on the lands by the creator to provide them with warmth, food and tools. Their flesh and spirit was to become one with them. So long as nothing was wasted, everypart of his body had a purpose, his hunter only killed what he needed, and if he honored his kill that the buffalo wanted to be hunted to be a source of survival for the hunter he shared his lands with.

Tatanka he me ye.. Bravo Boosh for being the respected hunter, for becomming one with the great tatanka and for respecting him in wasting nothing. For hunting the buffalo in the way it was intended, survival. And mostly for honoring him by sharing it with all of us, awesome! Youve made the ancient white buffalo-cow woman proud. I'll PM ya the video link.

Sandy, I'll PM it to you too :)

Looked like you had a great time. I hunt Bambis here in Kansas but since we have so many anymore they allow us 1 either sex tag and 5 game tags so I am never short of venison. If you get a hankering to go after deer let me know and I'll fill ya in on the details for Kansas.

UMMMMMMMMM can i trade my kid for some bufflo an lobster  shes a gereat cook an babysitter an housekeeper u would be gettin a great deal  j/k i do miss the wild meat we would get in Alaska from salmon to rabbits to the horned critters. Altho we had to cook the rabbit in beer batter or the pressure cooker with golden mushroom soup to help make it tender.

The best way to ship is in a stirofoam ice chest wrapped in newpaper.( headed to the airport now  )
Loved all the pics posted

Ty Kitty........My next trip will be to Alaska for two weeks.......gonna do some fishin for Salmon and Grayling and take a train ride across the country......then off to Glacier Nat'l Park in Montana for a few days.......I love to wander......booked a trophy elk hunt in Montana with the same outfitter for next year as well......

Animals I have harvested are all 3 species of deer(whitetail...blacktail and mule deer)......elk(Rocky Mountain and Roosevelt)....buffalo....antelope....bear....which was more out of self defense then wanting it because I was hunting deer and he chose to hunt me.....and almost every game bird except for Bobwhite Quail and Prairie Chicken which is actually a sage grouse....I found the wild Bandtail Pigeon to be quite eluding......you hunt them up high and they seem to come right out of the fog atcha.....

I help put back what I harvest as well....I belong to several wildlife conservation groups and help feed the elk in the winter at the Yakima range.....and I never harvest what I wont consume.....
