New Version/Old Player

Post by Phreaky » Sat Dec 15, 2012 2:35 pm

Hello. I've played Spades here for many years, but recently haven't played (maybe once in the last year). I want to come back and play more, but I notice there have been many updates. When I sign in it says my avatar is no longer valid, and there is a new feature (trinkets) that I don't have. I've looked around for a way to download the newer version, but I can't find it.

Can someone point me in the direction where I might be able to do this?

And also, do I need codes from when I first bought Hardwood Spades?

If you are speaking of the trinkets, that is with the new version, you can buy new items at the store.
The new version of Spades it sounds like you might have already, but you can download the new version from this page.

http://www.hardwoodgames.com/
On this page also, if you want the old build back, when you click on Spades, if you scroll right down to the bottom of the page, you will see this....
Looking for the last version of Hardwood Spades? you can find it here

If you have previously purchased Spades, yes, you still need to use your keycode, have you tried hitting f6 to see if its still there?
Also if you have a keycode from when you bought Spades, you can try the new version free for one year, also you get 1600 tokens to use in the Store
Hope this helps, Sandy

I don't still have keycode - I think I bought the game probably 8 to 10 years ago, so it's long gone. I did get the new version downloaded though, exploring it right now. Thank you so much!

I just noticed something. I am ingame, on the new version I just downloaded. On my profile, under rating, it says "Player needs to upgrade" - what does that mean?

I don't understand, I already purchased the game. So even though I already bought it, I cannot play rated games unless I buy it again?

The game site has changed so very much since I last played a few years ago. I wouldn't know where to begin. Do our (very) old key codes still work? Do we have to purchase any updates, or do we have full access?

Thanks

Hey Hexa,

Yes you version still works, may have an update, but your original stuff all works, if you decide to install the new, put it in a diff. folder and keep both

JUST DUST
TO BE OR NOT TO BE..... NOW WHAT KIND OF QUESTION IS THAT??? TO BE OF COURSE!!!!!

Can probably be done with a little perl programming,
I used to do this stuff all the time serveral years ago, Im a little rusty though.

I would assume that all the old messages on in text? no binary files?
