Moving..To Colorado Need Information

Post by HEXA » Mon Jul 10, 2006 12:51 am

Hi everyone :)

My family and I are relocating to the Ft Collins Colorado area in August.
I was wondering if anyone from the forum knows anything about that area and surrounding towns. I am mostly interested in finding out about the school districts, and living communities. I want my children to go to a wonderful school, and I'd like to live in a wonderful/safe community. I'm coming from "snob hill" in Texas... by the way.

The house listings are separated by North, West, East & South ft collins areas. Is one a better area than the other?

Ive been especially interested in a home located in Southeast Fort Collins, Sure the house is beautiful, but I know nothing of the area. Or the Schools.

If anyone has info about this area, Or any areas in and around ft collins id appreciate it.

If one area is particularly beautiful with the best schools.. That would be where i need to look!

Also.. any areas such as Wellington, Loveland, Greenly, Boulder, etc..

Feel free to PM the info to me if ya want :)

Thank you

Aww Hi Beautiful Barb.

I am so excited for you about the engagement. How wonderful, hon!

Thank you, I am going to need all the luck, wishes and help i can get.
Ive never lived so far from my Mother.. She has always been 5 minutes from me. But see they will be retiring to estes park area Colorado in a few years, So there is method to my madness LOL. Hopefully my older sister will accompany them at that time. My oldest sister already lives kind of far from me, Im used to her absence.

My Husband feels if he doesnt do it now, he'll never do it. Uprouting the kids and my animals isnt going to be easy. I am currently finding homes for the fish.. I dont think they will travel :( There is someone who has always wanted our bassett hound, they have a good stretch of property here and i think he would love living with them. I havent decided to part with him yet, or not. He probably wouldnt handle the snow to well. The labs are definetly coming with me! And Syerra doesnt seem willing to part with the cats.

We are looking forward to a white xmas this year, My kids havent ever been in snow, I havent been in snow since i was a kid. I think it will be awesome!

Keep me posted about wedding plans and share pictures!

Galt is in Colorado. I'm not sure how close to the area you mentioned, but when he stops in I bet he'll tell you what he knows. He's helpful like that.

Might change the name of your post to "Need Info... Moving to Colorado" to get his attention.

:D I love moving! I have lost count of how many times we have moved in our marriage, but each time it was exciting! Something new to see, new friends to make, (not forgetting all your old ones) I'm sure your dogs will love the snow, they have such thick coats, but your bassett will miss you heaps.
I wish you all the best in your move, Hexa sweety, and hope it all goes smoothly for you and the kids. :D Sandy

Hi Hexa,

I'm certainly happy for you, after we talked... I've been anxoius to hear where you decided to move to. This sounds like an exciting change for your family and what a great idea to think ahead regarding your parents retirement.

Good luck with the actual move... make sure you mark the boxes well that have your computer equipment.
